My First go...

Hi all, I'm new to all of this. I've had a play at retouching in the past with my own band photos etc. But decided to try something a little different this time around. What do you think? I'd love to know of any suggested improvements..

Cheers

Tom

Re: My First go...

its good, now that you completely eradicated her skin texture, try replacing it with a different "more pure" skin texture, many have come to the realization that even models actually have pores, so thats your next step to try out

how is changing her hair color retouching, thats more on the lines of manipulation, i'm really just curious why you changed the hair color

Re: My First go...

thanks for your reply synthetamine, I changed her hair just to put into practice a technique I found on an old tutorial site ages ago. I must say I've found it to be very enjoyable though!

Re: My First go...

what did you do to her hair , I'm curious.

I can think of the easiest way to be selecting her hair (with one of the lasso tools) and then changing the hue/saturation

Re: My First go...

i added a new adjustment layer (hue +saturation) then painted out the layer mask with a regular brush.

Re: My First go...

ah yes, painting out layer masks can be alot more fun than selecting sometimes.

you did a good job "staying in the lines" then.
