Can this be done??

Hi, I got an email from a woman who wanted a photo created out of ones she already had as her husband had been killed in Iraq and she didn't have a photo of the two of them together. She sent me 3 images to see if I could do anything with them. I'm a photographer and do retouching but can't manipulate images like these. Thought I'd see if anyone wanted to have a try here. The dinner suit image was just one she found, but she wanted to have any full length of the two of them standing together and the only pic of her husband she had was the face shot.

Images are at:

Thanks for any and all help. I'd like to help her if I can

Lynn

Re: Can this be done??

Hi Lynn,

The picture below has all kinds of problems from lighting to skin tones. However, gave this a quick try to see if this is the combined look that you wanted. My guess would be to try and find a gentleman in an outdoor setting with somewhat similar light and try to composite that. Just for the record, I am not a professional retoucher, but I am sure that others here will have your answer. Just thought I would offer something. Sometimes it is easier to get to the end product you want when you can actually see something done and pick from that the elements you like and dislike. Also, just where the top her head would come in relationship to his body would be useful in compositing the images. Was the little girl to be worked into the picture?

I am sorry, but just two more quick questions. Did the lady ever explain to you why no wedding or other family photos taken by a professional photographer, family member, or friend? Are you personally acquainted with either party, and if not, how did the lady establish the picture is of her husband?

Hi, thanks for that. No, I don't know the lady. Just got an email from her asking if I could do this. I said I couldn't but would ask around. It seemed like a really sad story...

Re: Can this be done??

Hi, thanks for the replies. I guess it must be some kind of weird scam, though I don't really get what the point of it would be? I've heard from a lot of people that do think it's weird, so I've taken down the photos and emailed the woman that it's not something I could find anyone able to do.
