First attempt at this kind of PP - C&C Please

Ok, this is a before and after photo of a style that I have been wanting to try and just took some images to play with. I am pleased with them but would like some input before I continue with the series.

This is hot can you describe the steps that you took?

the color is not consistent in her dress, it some spots it is far too saturated and on the right side it retains some of the original color...

i like what you did with the umbrella--the sheen you added. just enough--for me. the background, the bricks need to be finished. hey, it's all subjective.

That's funny because I was told to add more black back into the dress by someone else - I guess it IS subjective. Thanks for looking!

There are no defined steps but I used a program for dynamic photos and then took it to CS2 and worked on it there - saturating, smoothing, recoloring, reduced noise in certian spots, dodged highlights, burning around the frame and anything else I thought needed it - just kind of tweeked where necessary.

isn't all subjective? don't we all have different monitors set at different settings? for me, it's the emotional impact the image has on me; that's first. then, the technique comes into it: is it cropped well, in focus, over-saturated, interesting? not in that order. how does it compare with other great photographer's images?
