Re: Fake lashes, please help - 1st retouch Even the upclose lashes look a little "baby doll" to me. Lashes are not just varied in size but direction --here are fake lashes that mimic the way eyelashes look-- http://images.search.yahoo.com/image...sigh=11bfprfmv This link illustrates real lashes- http://images.search.yahoo.com/image...sigh=1189birka Try putting some "messy" lashes in to see if that changes the look ---Just a thought Sandi

Re: Fake lashes, please help - 1st retouch Study some real lashes and maybe try drawing with pencil and paper until they look right before applying them to your image. Lashes don't usually grow straight upwards. See attached.

Re: Fake lashes, please help - 1st retouch The model had nearly no visible eye lashes at that distance. I had to use a premade eyelash brush, then transform and warp it onto her eyes. This was tough. Maybe I should go back and rewarp the lashes to flow in a more realistic direction.

http://www.brushes.obsidiandawn.com/sets/eyelashes.htm Also at that distance, you might try reducing the opacity of the eyelash layer(s) just a bit. They should not be too clear and black. |

Re: Fake lashes, please help - 1st retouch I loaded one of the lash brush sets from that site and very quickly painted one on a layer, used transform to fit it to her eye, duplicated the layer, flipped it over, rotated to match the other eye. Layers at 70% opacity.

Re: Fake lashes, please help - 1st retouch Making a eyelash brush (4 free eyelash pic. included) (Click here) Use brush either black or the color of the natural lashes @100% opacity (to be adjusted lower later) on a new softlight layer then use the transform tool to move and shape the brush to the eye. OR Use the "Freeform Pen Tool" to draw your own lashes (click here). Drawing on a new softlight layer

Re: Fake lashes, please help - 1st retouch Hey rat! Welcome. Have been swamped so my first post in a while. The best way although time consuming is to use paths to create the lashes and then to stroke the paths with a small brush the color of the natural lashes (which are varied). Follow the natural lash line. Do this until you are happy with the set for one eye then g blur (depending on the res maybe .03 to 1 and lower the opacity. Do the same for the other eye on another layer. Hope this helps. (Also helps to tweak the brush so the tip is smaller) You'll get fast at this with practice. Hopes this helps. ~Nancy --------------------------------------- www.PhotoArt123.com

Re: Fake lashes, please help - 1st retouch I found this tutorial: http://www.webdesign.org/web/photosh...hes.14094.html Remember that natural lashes often cross each (see tutorial picture of bottom lashes) so don't make every lash perfect for a more realistic look. Good luck! ~Nancy --------------------------------------------------------- www.PhotoArt123.com
