Re: erik almas

In these types of color shift images I would look at the histograms & try to find the tendencies of channels shift directions.
Of course the effect could be achieved in levels, raw editing, curves or perhaps using other methods.

Re: erik almas

Well, his advertising images are mostly composites of several (sometimes up to 30+) different images set up with the right lighting. He then retouches some himself and uses several other retouchers to collaborate on his ideas. There's no method, per se, other than good lighting, the right camera, the right idea, awesome masking and blending techniques, and finishing touches (which is prob the main thing you are asking about, I would be interested to know this as well).

Re: erik almas

Hi there! I was surfing looking for Erick's PP secrets when I found this thread. He hasn't got one style only. The two attempt I'm uploading are after his very saturated/ muted color style. Critiques? Comments? Suggestions? Thanks, Carlo

Re: erik almas

In the first pic the red channel was manipulated with & I brought it back using levels. In the second pic the blue channel looks to be out of place.

Re: erik almas

The key is lighting. Get there early and choose the proper light (angle) Then it is a question of contrast and change of color. Here is an example. Not a good one since i dont have the initial lighting right. I all his pics with landscapes you see the low sun which indicates the time and definitely sets the color. It is crappy quality on the forum, but it shows the idea

Good Job! Your color of the second shot is almost Eric style, how can you do that?
