the silky effect is really easy with a pinhole camera. This allows a ridiculously long exposure time and anything moving will end up with that nice silky look. ie clouds and water.

In his statement he mentions that some exposures may have taken hours. Probably much like some of Michael Kenna's work were the actual exposures were taken at night.

Hello and thank you for showing us David Fokos site and other who take pictures like him it is a great style. I am sure that the Effect can be created in photoshop with the right Techniques and combo of Filters..
Also i think it is best to get as close as you can on camera before taking it into Photoshop and tweaking the image to get the final result.

This are done on camera with a neutral density lens filter (hoya nd400 ) and a very long exposure 4 to 8 minutes, the coloring and levels are easily applied later.

Just a stab here.....Its shot MF or LF film, long exp and huge files or film that holds the detail. Chip Forelli's work comes to mind for me

and I know hes shooting film. Sorry to admit, but I just dont think digital is there yet
