lynda.com (and other learning sites)

hello,

what do you guys think of the webclasses from lynda.com (or any other)

do you think one can learn a lot? or should I go the books way?
I am looking to learn more of Pro techniques and workflow, oh and probably a bit of some theory foundations...

I am saying that because yesterday I was surfing the net looking for info on LAB color correction mode and I found that Lynda has a 45 minute section on that!

Yep you can buy DVD also from Lynda.com, but don’t disregard the books...basically use all available resources; there are some talented guys around…Make sure you learn from the basics first toward advanced, so latter around a lot of things will get together…

OMG yes!! Lynda.com is the shit! No but I strongly recommend everyone to watch Deke McClellands videos on Channels and Masks. There you will pic up some awesome techniques on masking! He also has released Photoshop CS3 Mastering Lab Color. 6,5 hours of LAB. Havn't seen that though.

By the way. Chris Orwigs movies about digital photo retouching is also quite interesting. I like the way he never really mention that he, for exampel, makes a pair of breasts larger. Like he's a bit embaresed. Hehe

I have accounts with lynda.com and NAPP training. I am not a professional, but enjoy doing the tutorials. Lynda.com has an inspirational video each month with one of the outstanding professionals in some area. These I really enjoy. The classes at both sites are excellent. At Kelby Training the images are included in your membership. With lynda.com the cost for exercise files is extra. Remember, lynda.com covers tutorials on things outside of photography and graphics.
