Re: help with overexposed bumps in skin pore (Dn'B

Lots of ways...I made a rough selection of the area put on a temp layer

Drastically increased contrast

desaturated and adjusted with levels...slightly blurred

Then ctrl clicked on the RGB channel to load the selection

Deleted the temp layer and filled a new layer with a sampled flesh color

Then adjusted opacity as needed.

I have been doing a mix of D'nB and also the painting skin tones on the white spot...

HI P_FUZZ:

I always remind the technique that Mayday learned to me:

Take in curves the output values of the good skin for each channel, and change de output values of bad skin with them. Mask and paint softly. You can get very sweet transitions. Sometimes I change the blend mode of the Curves adjustment layer to luminosity, affecting only to the luminosity of the pixel instead a oversaturated color.

Hope it helps....Javier

Javier, could you elaborate a little with this. I follow must of it but don't understand, are you using one layer or two. Any more information would be helpful.

Thanks!

hey purpletofu,

IIRC you use as many curves adjustments you need for each specific areas... make sure you save sample a good skin color and then you match the bad skin to those values.

* Shift+click with eyedropper tool to sample and save the values of Skin

on curves you will add a point to the curve and dial the exact values of input (bad skin) and output (good skin) for each channel!
... I FAIL at explaining stuff!!!

Hey JavierT, yes I used a bit of this on my image.... BTW this image is giving me headache, because that section of skin is really bad... even though I am D'B ing for hours and hours, it still looks like a dried passion fruit!!!!
