Freelance Jobs

Did anyone ever get a freelance job at Elane or ifreelance?

I became a member of these two websites, but I'm finding very hard to compete with super low rates. It seems like there are many buyers out there more interested in low rates than in good quality work. Where would be a good place to find good freelance work.

Thanks!

Hi, you have to let them know that you exist :S do a lot of PR and have lots of portfolio. What kind of job are you looking for? Perhaps you could find a website that is concentrating on that job you're looking for it's more easy

Thanks for the reply.
I'm looking for retouching jobs. I don't know of any freelance website that's specialized in photo retouching. Do you?

I'd highly recommend getting your own personal site other than Flickr. It really makes you appear more professional. Domain names from godaddy.com are on ly $9 a year, so you shouldn't let expense scare you, especially if you want to get any good freelance work. It will pay for itself many times over. If you don't know how to code, there is a plethora of templates available that are easy to work with. It doesn't have to be fancy. Just having your own goes a very long way. Just my $.02.

Re: Freelance Jobs

Thanks for the reply.
I decided to get my own personal website done. You guys convinced me it's the best thing to do right now! It will look more professional and I'll be proud of showing it around.

Hopefully it will pay for itself.

Great motivation! Thanks.

Re: Freelance Jobs

And that's because you didn't take a look into getafreelancer.com... Anyway, I got a work from iFreelance but only 1 in 6 months. I did some calculations about that kind of websites and guess what. iFreelance has 17K user just in graphic design, and that was about 9 months ago. iFreelance is a paid website, suppose all the members pay for 1 year basic account, I think it'¡s about 75 dollars, meaning 60usd is for gold membership for 6 months. 17Kx75usd=1.275.000,00 dollars per year and just in one category and basic accounts. Who really win the money?

You can become a RetouchPRO Patron for a donation of US$25 a year..

A "Patron" tag under your name in every forum post
Larger Gallery space
Forum attachment size doubled
You won't see any banner ads in the forums

The Patron program is to support the website. It is not a subscription for RetouchPRO LIVE.
