Re: Anyone knows this Retouch dvd?

Put the money to a one year subscription to Lynda training...
http://www.lynda.com/

Like Keiserjohn said it is good for a beginner. Basic photoshop applications on high resolution photos. If I had it to do over, I'd invest my money in something else...umm any one selling one year subscriptions for background photos?

Re: Anyone knows this Retouch dvd?

Just a vent.. I apologize to the OP in advance.

On a site that is named "RetouchPRO," with a membership formed of Professionals and a lot of Photoshop software vendors who have decided to put their passion, art, skills and time into developing these programs in order to provide for their love ones, I find it inconceivable that anyone would even consider suggesting Pirating... "Someone put it up on the web" does NOT count as explicit permission to use someone else's property without purchasing or having the rights.

I have found that most folks here want to be ethical and do not want to go to a torrent site or warez site and find that the software they and their teams worked so hard on exists on these sites in a hacked form.. depriving them of revenue!

Now don't get me wrong I am not all that self-righteous nor a prude.. It's just that I feel this is not the proper venue or forum to discuss where you can get someone else's stolen and modified property unless you are trying to help the vendor in a recovery type situation..

Again, My apologies to the OP

I am done now!

Re: Anyone knows this Retouch dvd?

welp i kinda dont care =] i dont have a copy of the video because the company i was interning for owned a copy...ITS NOT WORTH IT..why charge 200 for something you can really learn OFF OF HERE. alota these ppl really do sell all these products in hope of making money and its not even worth the paper or cd they are selling it on. im not on here to argue so dont start one. Thanks. honestly slickforce's classes are really the best classes out there.

i agree with misspimpcess... it's worthless. just look at the way that text from the back cover was written, it's laughable.

Re: Anyone knows this Retouch dvd?

I understand olbaldy's point. But then again, when non reputable companies start selling DVD's no one knows about them and what to expect. So new dvds should clearly state what they will and won't be covering. The DVD mentioned only provides basic techniques and works on a almost flawless picture to begin with. So for a newbie or aspiring retoucher this would have been money wasted, as most newbies won't start off retouching such flawless and hi res images, and the techniques to fix common flaws are not taught. In contrast, anyone pirating anything from Lynda.com has absolutely no excuse, they have a good reputation, charismatic and knowledgeable teachers, 3-4 sample tutorials available for each course and you know exactly what your getting for your money.
