how can this be done? (Tim Tadder) Anyone a clue how you can mix this grass stuf with concrete floor? How about all the corners... ?? I know Tim Tadder (who i am talking about) is a great photographer, but the photoshop skills are amazing. The link to his blog: http://www.timtadder.com/blog/mainbl...ts&topic_id=34 Other similar pictures: http://www.timtadder.com/ (go to 'Lifestyle'). Thanks, York

Re: how can this be done? (Tim Tadder) Kind of hard to make out with out looking at a full res version, I don't think its even actual grass so its more like an illustration in that matter. I would think it could be done with having the textures and then composite them in. The "cartoony" look helps in that the grass does not have to look real only enough to let you know that its grass and not carpet.

Re: how can this be done? (Tim Tadder) Composite masking, Displacement maps, maybe a litle CGI.. He has a comment section, why not ask him? Anything we put forth would be just so much guessing.

Re: how can this be done? (Tim Tadder) That's a bit of a heavy handed pic. It's weird, the perspective on those rolls of grass are completely off, and it's just all so fake. This is not a style that I enjoy looking at. However.... He took some flat pieces of grass, and just remade the shape of the steps with them, then you re-light them and the edges are (I think) just painted on the edge of the masks of the grass (if that makes sense). Then draw in the black for the shadows and the whites for the highlights. It looks like a fun job.

Re: how can this be done? (Tim Tadder) OH NO! Who came first Dave Hill or Tim tadder, sort of like the chicken or the egg! my suggestion would be to throw on a smoking jacket, pour a nice glass of brandy, start a cozy fire, and cuddle up on the couch and start on page one of the "How to achieve the Dave hill look" thread and read that novel through to the end lololololololololol
