correcting skin colour shifts after d&b I am finding that the skin colour shifts after I d&b the skin. What are some good ways to correct this? I know it is possible to use curves and the RBG values. But I tried it and the result is not good. I must be doing something wrong. I've also tried just brushing colour on a 50% gray layer with some success, but could be better as you can see in the pic. Thanks, David

Re: correcting skin colour shifts after d&b it's hard to see any color shifts when the photo is zoomed. that's why you have them because you d&b on zoomed skin. usually I view the photo on 100% and again with d&b but on really low opacity even out the variations.

Re: correcting skin colour shifts after d&b You can paint colour on - new colour mode layer (blank layer set to colour mode), sample the healthy colour (radius on dropper set to 5 or above) and paint - this is a very crude technique but it can help smoothing inconsistencies quickly. This assumes you are talking about HUE variations and not tonal ones. Don't overdo this, naturally skin has some variation in heat depending on light - its trying to see what variation is caused by coloured light which you want to keep, or modify in a controlled way - and whats caused by skin discolouration which you generally want to lose.

Re: correcting skin colour shifts after d&b create curves adjustment, set blending mode to color, and if the image is color corrected by numbers, then increasing magenta (decreasing green channel) usually helps with color corrections, especially helpful in larger areas, smaller areas, yeah just do what marzebra says.

Re: correcting skin colour shifts after d&b Thanks for the tips everyone. Yea, looking back, the colour variation isnt very noticeable. So I decided to leave it and let it be.
