Lining up images with actions I am trying to create an action in photoshop that will make it possible for all cropped items I work with to line up after they have been cropped. The problem I am having now is we crop everything that comes in and the photography is often not consistent. We crop so that everything is the same size, but the volume of images is too much to go in and make sure they all line up at exactly the same X,Y coordinates. Does anyone have any ideas on an action that would A. center the item and B. make sure they all line up? Note that the items are not all in the same document. I am not trying to get layers to line up, I am trying to make sure images in seperate documents line up.

Re: Lining up images with actions These are images that wont be used in indesign. It is an interesting problem. They are going to be used for the web and are all different sized images on grey background. (By different sized I mean that all images are roughly 2100x2200, but take up different ammounts of space inside the document) What I need to do is figure out a way to size them all to 2000x2000px while also centering them to the Y axis and making sure they all line up on the X axis. Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Lining up images with actions Just a guess,... using the place command (File>Place) centers images on import.. used in conjunction with an action/script? ..

Re: Lining up images with actions This wont work because the items are already in a document. The volume of images would make placing each image into a new document too timely a process.

Re: Lining up images with actions Not quite sure why you wouldnt be able to make a 2000x2000 picture box in InDesign, and then write a script to place all images inside those boxes filling the frame.

Re: Lining up images with actions Indesign is not an option. The workflow needs to take place in photoshop. There are too many images to add another program to the mix. I just need to figure out a way to do it in photoshop.

Re: Lining up images with actions When you say line up, what is it your are trying to line them up to? Top, Bottom, Center, Left, Right? To each other or something else? If you are just trying to align them to each other, seems cropping them to the same size should do it.
