Talking Re: Dodge&Burn Movie/Tutorial

I never knew how to do the d and b method, but this really helps, lengthy or not. I am still trying to do it right, but this certainly points me in the right direction.

Thanks for the video!

Re: Dodge&Burn Movie/Tutorial

Hubba...very nice. I learned a lot more regarding dodge/burn and skin. Makes more sense to me than before. Just wondering how you picked up this technique? Figured it out? Someone show you? There certainly isn't much literature...at least I haven't seen it in the past five years that I've been reading. I've learned more from you for free verses that worthless $200 retouching CD I purchased last year...live and learn! Again..thank you very much for sharing!!

Re: Dodge&Burn Movie/Tutorial

Absolutely fantastic learning experience. You just showed me more for free, than I have ever had someone show me before. As an amateur who likes to learn, I have always wanted to pick up better techniques to make my own portrait photography look better. Thank you.

Re: Dodge&Burn Movie/Tutorial

After decoding ancient documents written by the unshaking hands of tibethan monks i trecked through the himalayan massif's to learn at the feet of the mast...

nah, there are a lot of talk about the dodge & burn technique in different tutorials (and threads here) and once you figure out the basic theory behind it (even out the luminosity by shadowing highlights and lighten shadows) then it's not hard to learn.

And once the theory is down then what technique to use (dual curves, actual dodge & burn, softlight layer, etc) is more a matter of choise depending on the image or what you want to do.

And thanx for all the positive feedback =)

Thank you, Hubba! I didn't know about this method and it really improves the skin! And, best of all, with a natural look! I'm gonna practice a lot with it now! Thank you very much!
