Re: product retouch: selective cmyk color

Thanks everyone.

Markzebra,
Great feedback, especially about the cmy concerning density. That makes total sense.
feel a little foolish.

I just found out I have to accomplish this with silver ornaments only!
A solid color fill layer in color blend mode with a mask is the best I've
tried so far. Any other suggestions?

Re: product retouch: selective cmyk color

Crudely - various hue/sat layers (set to colorise) maybe blended using advanced blending sliders. color will shift in saturation and hue slightly at different densities, and this is one very quick way to control it. This will at least help you visualise how it 'should' look. Remember that a blue ball next to a yellow has the blue ball reflected in it, and it has 'spill' so their colors cast color shadows on the cloth.

Properly - color blended overlays with generated masks maybe. Or channel mix. Depends on the source.

Re: product retouch: selective cmyk color

Thanks Markzebra,
I shot the spheres yesterday. best results were done with individual pieces to get the lighting the best I could on the product itself. I will be working on compositing the background and the colorization the next few days. I will post the final when I'm done.

Thanks for all the help everyone.
