hey everyone...just joined retouch pro and have spent hours browsing through the various threads here looking for inspiration...theres a lot out there!

quick q...i saw a lot of people offering "practice retouching images," would i be able to use those to build my portfolio? crediting, obviously, where due. but if not, where does one GET hi-res images to work with/practice on/build portfolios with, etc.

like i said, noob-alert! brand new to the field and to retouching! suggestions welcome!

For image sites, try searching RP for "free images". The advanced search option allows you to just search certain forums.

lol, i'm sorry to say "messy hair" is not your work. the first thing you have to know when you enter the world of photography is HONESTY.

I wish I had seen your message back in Nov 2008 when you posted it...

The "messy hair" image was a practice retouching that I did while learning the basics of retouching...It was not published anywhere in my name, the original image is not mine, however that particular retouched rendition is.

I definitely understand the concept of honesty, I'm sorry if you think that misrepresented myself. I do have the psd file that details the work I needed to do in order to complete the retouched version that I put on my portfolio, I would be happy to go ahead and send you the step by step of how I did it.
