incitement to Cricket1961 and Ant: Calculations Hi, I specially dedicate this post for Cricket and Ant, guys could you tell us more about Calculation command? I have noticed that you have been talking about it formerly. This image was sent by KR1156. Adobe in their documentation, only mentioned about this technique- maybe it is in regression? How often are you using this? And what is the main difference between calculations done by Cricket1961 here - and manually subtracting for example only Blue Channel form image sent by KR1156 ??? It is a matter of taste, or time (it is faster)? Please could you explain to us, the main assumption of Blending options for Subctract and Add: the indicator for offset and scale? (and why you don't have those modes available for layers blending???) Thanks in advance, and excuse me for my straightforward.

Re: incitement to Cricket1961 and Ant: Calculation Its been a while since I have been on this site. Sorry for not seeing this and replying to it sooner. Unfortunately its going to have to wait a little longer as its not a easy subject to explain. The difference between the two you mentioned here is that the subtraction using the blue channel in Apply IMage was affecting the actual gradation and tones of the image directly. Calculations always makes a new channel(or selection), from which you can then blend in with the original core channels or replace one altogether. Hope that little bit helps. Chris

Re: incitement to Cricket1961 and Ant: Calculation Still thinking about this, and exploring it... I think it is one of the most important issue for saving time in our work-flow.

Re: incitement to Cricket1961 and Ant: Calculation Channel mixing can also be used to replace Calculations, although it doesn't have the advantage of the other blends. If all you are using in Calculations is Multiply and Screen modes, then channel mixer does the same thing. In addition its possible to apply blending/channel mixer with the color image in the same way as in Apply Image.
