Re: looking for the plugin for smoothly skin

I'm gonna save you some time and go ahead and summarize what you're going to hear from various people on this site:

1. Plug-ins for smooth skin do exist, but they eliminate all detail, and make the picture look extremely fake. They make the model look plastic, which while marginally acceptable for personal photos, is generally hated in any sort of professional circles.

2. There is not "easy button" for good skin. It takes a lot of hard work, practice and patience.

3. Dodge and Burn is the generally accepted practice for professional results. Search for it in this forum, also in the tutorial section here. See #2.

4. For future reference, avoid tutorials that recommend blurring to smoothen the skin. See #1 for reasons why.

5. The de-grunge method (again, search this forum) is a fairly quick and easy one, but also tends to make the image look fake if used globally. It also tends to give fairly recognizable results. (e.g. "wow, someone definitely de-grunged this picture!") It is more effective if used in small doses on various sections of the skin - usually after the hard work of dodging and burning is done.

6. Again, there is no magic bullet for smooth skin.

So, that's basically what you're going to hear. Search for other posts on this topic and you'll read almost exactly the same thing. I would highly recommend checking out D&B and the degrunge method. Good luck!

Re: looking for the plugin for smoothly skin

I'm not a professional but Imagenomic Portraiture seems to work pretty good for a plug-in. You could also try using Surface Blur and a mask.

You need CS2 or higher.

1. Duplicate background layer
2. Filter-Blur-Surface Blur
Radius 10 Threshold 25
3. Reduce opacity to your liking
4. Alt/Click mask icon
5. Paint in mask with white

This also works real well for removing noise from a sky.
Hope this helps.

Joe

Kent Chrisiansen's "Skin Fix" is a set of actions for smoothing skin. ..... Maurice Hamilton, Russell Brown and KentC methods rolled into one action
found <here>

KentC Skin Fix "Paint Soft Skin" used judiciously works well!

I'm gonna have to agree with jam1212. Due to the differences between each picture, there is almost never a one click solution.

That's being said, there are some things over at FredMiranda that you might be interested in. It won't do the work for you, but they'll help you get there.

See some examples using Imagenomic Portraiture here. You might also look into the Kubota actions, geared toward wedding and portrait pros.
