Textures help I am pretty new to RetouchPro and not really sure how it all works but am trying my best so bear with me. I am looking for some information on using textures to create old scratched looking images, or just any way of creating old looking photos. Can't seem to find much information on using textures despite scouring the internet. Does anyone have any advice or links to good tutorials - I would love to get to know how they work. Many thanks Olivia And happy new year...........

Re: Textures help thank you - it's so hard to find exactly what you're looking for when you don't know what it's called. Do you know why there isn't much info on this site about textures? Is is not that common a thing to use? many thanks

Re: Textures help Hello and welcome Olivia here is a link to some textures here and here that should whet your appetite for a bit I think there isnt much out there about textures as the variables are so great i.e. which texture goes with which one, which layer mode is used etc etc it really is a try it and see technique i think Palms

Re: Textures help Thanks Palms, Any idea how I use them? Do I just stick it down as a layer and use different modes - or do I use it as a texture filter? That's where I'm stuck?? The links that you sent are just the kind of things I am looking for so thanks again - I love you senior members - you're so helpful! O

Re: Textures help Glad to have been of some help Olivia How you use them is entirely up to you, Personally what i do is to drag and drop (using the move tool) them on top of the image i want to use them on, resize using transform if necessary, most used blend modes are multiply, overlay, and soft light and of course different opacity's try combining different ones( including different colours) to get some cool effects And lastly make a folder just to keep your textures in, it gets addictive and you can end up with loads and loads ( i also back this folder up as i can never remember where i got them from ) Palms
