Video - Tutorials Retouching (Let me know)

Hi RetouchPro

My Name is Calvin Hollywood and i am a photographer/digital artist from germany.

I work with companies like pearson, adobe systems and many more...

I already did 4 Video Tutorial DVDs on the german market about retouching, creative Techniques and compositings.

But now i like to try doing english video tutorials about retouching and other techniques.

I like to do that for the web for everybody (no DVD).

My question is:

Where should i upload this kind of tutorials?

On Youtube? Is that good enough for you all?

Let me know where i can upload this files and of course let me know if you are interested in this kind of video tutorials?!

lg Calvin

Thx Murray
I need a place for everyone.

I did a testvideo today and i guess its ok in youtube.

If someone have a other place then youtube (a public one) let me know.

Re: Video - Tutorials Retouching (Let me know)

I saw your posted video on youtube and it was excellent. I watched it in full screen mode. I would recommend you post on Vimeo which supports HD 1280 x 720 uploads and would provide a better quality movie. Youtube also allows higher resolution uploads but I haven't used that option yet.

Thanks for your post.

Very interesting video of your workflow with the smart objects, I use Lightroom 2 so need to have a look to see if the smart object feature is available.

Re: Video - Tutorials Retouching (Let me know)

Great video Calvin. Never seen or heard of that technique. And I will definitely be using it in the future. I’ve learned a lot from your PSD's and this video just adds to it. Thanks for sharing and hope to see more soon.

Helped a lot,
-Keven

Re: Video - Tutorials Retouching (Let me know)

You may have heard it before, a couple of weeks ago, mentioned by me … http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/pho...tml#post216121 - What Calvin has done is shown nicely that you can now use Photoshop as the master container for RAW work and use all of Photoshop's superior editing and blending capabilities, retaining the quality of RAW. If you also do all of this in 16 bit (blue line at the bottom of the RAW dialog "workflow options" to 16 bit RGB) you will have an advantage there also. As the base image.

Its for this reason than a lot of the new 'adjustment brush' local correction stuff in RAW is really not that helpful. Especially for those of us that have to deal with Photographers doing their own work in RAW before handing it off.

I personally I'm not that keen on what 'clarity' does to an image - its the same effect as the old local contrast filtration techniques, and should be used very carefully, if at all.

Re: Video - Tutorials Retouching (Let me know)

Really a good job man
Maybe You can try Metacafè (http://www.metacafe.com), they have a "Producer Reward" formula (http://help.metacafe.com/?page_id=241) basically they pay you if your videos comply with their requirements (full details in the link I've pasted).

You Tube is however a good guy (at least for visibility and tam-tam thing), go for it too.

Keep it up!
I'm the same "keep it up" guy of You tube comment ~z3nigata
