Need Tutorial on colorizing black and white photos

Hi to all photoshop experts!

I've some old family photos which I wanna convert into quality color photos. Can any one detail me how to do this with photoshop. I want the best possible way to colorize the old black and white photos.

Hi Guyhands,

Just goto the site menu and tutorial section, enter 'Coloring B&W Images' and you'll find a very good tutorial that'l get you started; but if you've got any cash left after Christmas you could also buy a couple of books by Katrin Eismann, Photoshop Restoration & Retouching and Photoshop Masking & Compositing, which are, in my opinion, possibly the best books ever published concerning Photoshop.

Not a problem - I'm pleased to be able to give back to this rather special web site!

To Bonnylass - those books by Eismann are so full of useful techniques that would take years to learn, plus the books have websites with graphics to practice with as well as reading the books. Downside is that they are very expensive - but worth it.

Hi Guyhands,

try this tutorial the best if you want to achieve very good results, no need to buy any book. I have learnt all my colourzing with it.
