Re: Need help removing shadows

VSWEETSER, welcome to Retouch Pro. The magic eraser will take care of the shadow around her face & head in just a few seconds. The Dodge tool can take care of the shadw on the jaw line. There are about a dozen other ways to do it in Photoshop but these are simple, fast, and effective.

Re: Need help removing shadows

Cloning seems to be the most efficient way to handle this. There is all this uniform and simple background. The shadow at the jaw can also be cloned from the neck area.

Re: Need help removing shadows

The background that is already there is cloned into the shadowed area. Is that your question?

Re: Need help removing shadows

Copied to new layer, inserted new BG between the layers (simple radial gradient light blue - darker blue)
Extracted figure from top layer (with a good contrast like this the Extract tool works fine).
Cleaned up with eraser and History Brush.

Re: Need help removing shadows

Passport's are not glamour shot's...You are not supposed to have shadows, But you are also not supposed to smooth skin and smile. (I know it sounds stupid but read the requirments)

This may not be for passport then the requirments are diffrent...But this sure looks like a passport shot except the cropping.
