Ninenna, I'm really using your technique sometime, but I wonder the result in your tutorial is awesome while my images does not getting that High End look.

Re: d&b tutorial download

First of all, this result is not that great - I would avoid it as much as possible.

But, it does give out the idea of what you should do.

all it takes is patience really.

Do you have a tablet?

Re: d&b tutorial download

Nienna the result is very good. The tutorial would be very helpful to beginners and even advanced users.

Yea it came out a bit flat, but no way should they avoid watching it. It was in depth and you didn't cut out any footage like other videos that is vital to learning for some people.

I think you should make more videos.

Sure. I didnt mean avoid watching the video (otherwise I would never have published it), I meant avoid reaching that kind of result .

Re: d&b tutorial download

Sorry to ask again Nienna, but I am not sure I cleared up what I was trying to figure out.

Do you think the tools method instead of a custom curve, showed maybe too much contrast, so that when you evened it out, it ended up flat? Because all your doing with D&B is making tones even, so I was wondering if the way you go about maybe ended up with a flat result more often then not. And not because of your skill but just because it's what the layer showed you needed to even out.

Re: d&b tutorial download

Hi there, thanks for the great video, really very helpful.

I hv one question, any reason for setting the flow of the brush to 20% and not leave it at 100%?

Thanks!

Hey,

well if you want an answer to that, open a new page in photoshop and use the brush:

1) draw with any color of your choice on flow 100%

2) draw near that line you just drew another one only with much less flow, say 20%.

What do you see?

Hope youll find your answer

Itz lighter! haha.. i guess my understanding of Flow was abit wrong before this. I thought lesser flow means more spacing between the stroke. Looks like itz also means lighter softer output (correct me if I am wrong)

Thanks Nienna!

For MAC users:

To extract RARed files just download the free UnRarX tool: http://www.unrarx.com/

Re: d&b tutorial download

Quick Tip when the unRARing doesn't work: The parts 3 and 4 (from sendspace) arrived here without underscores in the filenames (Mac OS). After renaming them unRARing was possible.

That goes for PC's also ... ..

I also bought the premium memberships in both sendspace and Rapid Share to save time.
AND the 3rd file took forever to download came corrupt ...

Re: d&b tutorial download

Hi Nienna, I am having some problem extracting the file (part 1) using a software called 7-zip. It says the file is corrupted. Any idea?

Re: d&b tutorial download

thank you very much for your video and sharing with others (it's priceless!). always interesting to watch others work.
i find bw/curve very helpful in detecting imperfections but can't work with that layer switched on (i just switch it on/off all the time). i've tried a few times and sometimes got weird results (as soon as bw was switched off). did it ever happen to you? perhaps, i just d&b there more than i had to or because i'm working on soft light gray?
