Child Portrait Photography: Editing advice

This is the sister thread for Child Portrait Photography: Inspiration & Advice. Here we can talk about editing and show each other what we can do. Feel free to use the NEF's and show off your skills here... Make it into art, clean it up, extract the background or whatever as long as its appropriate.

Shoot with a D300. Baby's name is Aiden if you want to incorporate.

Here is the link to the NEF's. It is a self Extracting ZIP, basicly just keep clicking next. If you all have problems I can post some where else or post a regular zip. Or if you all need JPEG I will post up to flicker, Just let me know.

Instructions for Download:

Click on the link and it will take you to the web site. You have to enter the 3 letter code (caps sensitive) in the text box next to it.

The next page will show you a premium or free option. You should see a 45 second countdown under the free. Once it is done with the countdown, click the free download at the bottom where the countdown was.

Click save and put it somewhere you can find. Desktop would be the easiest.

Then wait till it’s done downloading. Open the file and choose a place to extract, again desktop is the easiest.

Your most likely going to have to extract the subject and replace the background for some of them.

Have fun with it, post your method if you want as this is a place of learning.

The below were only edited in lightroom. Softening is due to clarity reduction.

Have fun,
-Keven

Happy editing,
-Keven

When I played with it I selected around the football feathered a bit and did some lens correction.. just an idea

Oh well, Here is the other one I played with just keeping it simple and standard
Tried to stick with the 6X9 format
