New here with question: How does Lucis work?

Hi all!

I just joined here and there's a LOT of info! I really hope I have enough time in the day to go through it efficiently.

Anyway...on to my question: How does Lucis work in photoshop?

Not how you work the plug-in nor the program, but how does the program manipulate photoshop to do what it does? All a plug-in does is manipulate photoshop filters & such.

So, does anyone know how it works? The steps it goes through in photoshop to arrive at the result it (and Topaz) does.

Hi Plumeyer, welcome to RetouchPRO, I hope you will make many new friends and enjoy your visits here!

If we knew the inward workings of the programs then we would not have to pay the big bucks to use them now would we!

I'm sure the writers and programmers would be thrilled if we told the processes the programs went through step by step so no one would have to buy the programs... Good try though!

To be serious for a moment... The programs you mentioned use different formulas, proprietary algorithms, and a bunch of secret mathematical stuff along with their own filters and the built in filters within Photoshop to arrive at their results. Folks have tried to mimic their programs for years to no avail..

In other words... I dunno!!

there was a tutorial how to make Lucis effect for free...I tryed, it works, but I have to let u know, my antivirus system warns me when I go this site...

Every effect presented at Lucis Gallery is a simple mix of photoshop default filters, and color correction. 600$ for this plugin??? Crazy. Or you have thousands images to process...

I recommend everyone to stay away from it.
