So what you do is you use see-through plastic torsos and/or torsos cut up to only give volume where it's covered and you then see straight into the garment. That way you still might need to do some cleaning up, but a LOT less than if you had to remove a person in a green/blue-suit or such.

i had an opportunity to see some of this transparent mannequins or more concretely, for the pics you've displayed transparent body parts. They are quite transparent and if you look at the inside of the hood on your picture, for me it's seems as though some little work had been done there, mostly for the etiquette, but the density of this acrylic materials that are used for this dolls isn't that high so the distortion of the background color won't require much post work.
certainly not as much as any 3D modeling would
here's an example of this type of dolls, i myself have seen even clearer, more transparent types
