Re: For Friends I’m guessing this is an ad toward a gay crowd. Next time post like this go in the critiques section. As for the retouching and removal I think you did a very good job. Looks clean. The only problems I see are the (picture) left guy. I don’t think I like his highlights (nose and forehead), I think there too harsh. Another thing is his ear should be liquefied to the right, looks a little out there. Further editing may be adding a blue cast to the guys, just an idea (not necessary). I too would be interested and seeing how you attained your result. Hope it helps, -Keven

Otherwise a nice retouch! **Edit: I also just noticed that the guy on the right could benefit from a bit of sharpening. Last edited by Kayem; 02-22-2009 at 10:10 PM. |

Re: For Friends Thanks for the feedback guys! Much appreciate it. The photo was part of a shoot for my friend and his boyfriend. I placed them in an ad just for fun. I'll give the head smoothing, ear moving, and neck adjusting a try. For the guy on the right, I think the reason he's blurry here is because of the compression to get the file under 100kbs. The original is much sharper. I mostly use the dodge and burn tool to get the skin tone to be even. Then adjust the color and luminosity using the stamp tool. I probably take longer than it needs to. For this one I spent a total of about 13 hours on it.

Re: For Friends This makes me feel better, as there is no super secret technique. This would have taken me the same amount of time if not a little more. Thanks for sharing, and good luck on the rest of the editing. -Keven

Re: For Friends Yeah, I'm just doing it the old fashion way. No shortcuts, maybe besides the liquify tool. Anyway, here's the final. If I tweak it more, they might both start resenting me; but it's a good way to convince someone to stop going to tanning beds.

Re: For Friends Push The top of that ear in a bit more and make it a tad smaller and i think you could put this one to bed. (Subjective) it might also be 1-5 points to saturated. Great job with the removals and reductions....the new hilights are much better too... -Keven
