Colorizing and retouching and old B&W

Re: Colorizing and retouching and old B&W
I’m trying to colorize an old photo, but every time I do the photo does not look real. Also the photo does not look smooth, kind of grainy (some pixilation going on) and the skin tone is ruff. Can anyone help me with this photo I’m trying to make it look as real as possible? I have attached 2 photos, the first one is where I cleaned up the original photo and the second one I tried to colorize it. I’m just a beginner and have played around some, but I know there are ways to make photos look really sharp. I am more interested in the technique of how to do it not just to have this photo done. Although this serves as a good sample. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it very much.
Thank you.

Just a quickie... the flesh tones are off though, needs more TLC.

Filter>noise>despeckle.

Mask area, image>adjustments>hue/saturation
click colorize and play with colors.
Repeat for each area you want colored.

I did the whole face at once, you can do the eyes and mouth separately.
