Sharpening Basics Video

I've spent several hours today explaining some sharpening basics on related threads on Photography-on-the.net and DPReview. There's obviously a lot of interest in this.

I've taken the "Sharpening Basics" segment from my sharpening eBook/video and posted it on my site as a convenience for the digital photography community.

This is a 15-minute streaming Quicktime video with 1024 x 768 video and CD quality audio. It covers the following:

(1) Sources of softness in digital phjotographs
(2) Multipass sharpening
(3) How sharpening works

Enjoy! This is free to the entire digital photography community.

Cheers,

Mitch

Re: Sharpening Basics Video

Do you ahve Apple Quicktime installed on your computer? You will need that to play the video.

Other than that, just click on the link. The video will open in your browser. A tiny portion will get cut off to the right because the column for the video window is a little narrower than 1024 pixels.

I normally make the videos for the site at 800 x 600. I just uploaded myu DVD video, which is 1024 x 768 and did not resample it.

Cheers,

Mitch
