First Time Shot

Been a member for quite some time now and I would consider myself more of a compositional retoucher in my line of work. High end retouching is quite fascinating to me and like to dabble in it. Just wanted to post my first attempt for some helpful critique/suggestions. I know its a little overcooked just wanted to get the feel

I like the first one, the second one the skin is better but i see something like a white halo around the person

Thanks for the response, the first photo is the original and the second being the retouched. I do notice the halo. I was doing this to practice D&B, guess i wasn't too careful with a mask on a levels adjustment layer
