| pockets glowing through the pants Hello I've got a problem, there is a picture of man in white striped suit, but on the pants yu can see through the fabric the pockets, its a bit brighter. How do i make it disappear, to look like all the same without damaging the stripes. |

| Re: pockets glowing through the pants Create a 50% grey layer like so: layer> new layer. In the new layer dialogue box change the mode to 'overlay', opacity 100% and tick the box 'fill with overlay-neutral color (50% gray)' Then using the dodge /burn tools set on a low opacity, burn in the lighter bits and dodge the darker bits on this gray layer to make the pocket 'disappear'. Hope this helps, Anna |

| Re: pockets glowing through the pants Why make it complicated... Just use the clone tool and set the opacity around 30 percent...Line up on the stripes and blend the white pockets in. Butch |

| Re: pockets glowing through the pants to not disrupt the lines at all, you cannot use healing brush or clone tool as it moves the pixels rather than playing with the pixels that are already set in place. all i did was: duplicate the background layer select the area around the glowing pocket (do not include any shadows in your selection) feather the selection by about 3 open levels (ctrl+l) now instead of adjusting the input levels (top bar) adjust the white slider of the output levels (bottom bar) as it wont make the colours go saturated and it wont look as if they are pixely. you should adjust the output levels until they match the surrounding pant colour. do the same for the other pocket dodge and burn the remaining line and then hopefully your done. ill attach my attempt. | Re: pockets glowing through the pants Create a softlight layer, fill with 50% grey. Use the dodge tool set on midtone and around 20% strength. With a tablet, carefully paint away the darker parts. Simple! (but you will need that tablet). -dennison www.dennisonbertram.com |
