My daughter shot again ... retouched

So i took one of my daughter shots and retouch it in that painting or doll look style, i know i didn't do good enough, but i love the result, i know i can do it better but not at this time, need longer time to learn how to retouch.

Here is my attempt:

And here is my friend [Called Palladium as nickname on another forum] took the time and effort to edit it a little bit or say refine it and really he did a great job, i like it even many will say is it overdone my attempt but i like it and this is the important thing

So if someone can do retouch it better way or different way, then let's see the best retouchers here do something, and i wish if you can submit it same original size as i want to print it large for myself and my family

Thank you very much, i am not a pro at all as well, just amateur like you, just learning, and as i said, i like the result, could be better but still i didn't reach that level in Photoshop to do better, so i will try later in the future.

I was using Hasselblad H3DII-39mp.

Went for a more illustrative look using Gradient map techniques and a few Xero filters in GIMP.

Here's an attempt at highkey with a little help from Xero's Porcelain and Serious Fog filters.

WOW, thank you very much!
Both are great but i prefer #2, #1 is great but it looks like that she has hair or beard on her face, even in the original there is but the retouch showed it more clear, but overall it is really nice retouch.

Re: My daughter shot again ... retouched

I agree with you on the first; was just trying to mimick your first try a different way and didn't even think to clear that area up.

I would like to say "Perfect", but the color made me to stop saying it.

Re: My daughter shot again ... retouched

I did make it more yellow as I thought it was too orange. I have cheep 4 year old monitors. They are calibrated, but if you don’t look at them head on, the colors can get over saturated.

Hopefully the below original color will be more to your liking.

Re: My daughter shot again ... retouched

Hassie notwithstanding, imo a different camera angle and another crop/composition would've provided a more flattering perspective of the young lady, and a better starting point for the glitz/dolly look exercise. With this image I feel hamstrung even before I start. And I therefore didn't.
