| Re: How to get texture back to the skin? Exactly, many look for to get the left side to be as in right side, but if you want to restore the skin to its original look then i think you have the original RAW file, or ask the photographer to post the original photo of the portrait so you will see un-retouched skin. |

| Re: How to get texture back to the skin? I dont know if you are looking to get the freckles look back... or if you want to add skin pore detail on the smoothed side. On this image, you can get the right side of the face to look a bit more like the left side by duplicating the layer and putting the duplicate layer into multiply layer blend mode and then reduce the opacity to 4 to 16% something very low to match. Then you can use a mask to localize that adjustment to just the areas in the face you want. That will darken the right side of the face to closer match the left and will also bring out some small skin detail that may be left. I think the above poster has a good suggestion...to do the best you may need the original. If youre just looking for the textures part...our group has skin pores textures that have been taken off of one good model... and then use them to put skin pores textures back onto another model to get rid of that over softened look. They are sheets of just skin pore textures that can be re-applied onto the new models face where ever needed. We also have sheets of freckles from one model that can be adjusted and applied to another model. You can PM me off line if you want to discuss or if you need some resources. | Re: How to get texture back to the skin? The left side (with freckles) is the original, I am looking to get to the right side. Looking at the original, there are no skin texture at all. Any ideas on how to get the skin texture back on? |

| Re: How to get texture back to the skin? A few ways. You can use noise on a softlight layer. You can use noise&emboss on a soft light layer. You can copy the original layer, turn it into a highpass layer, and put it on softlight, overlay, or linear light. |

| Re: How to get texture back to the skin? Reverse D&B will add more textrure. A dark dot in the center of the pore will add texture. -Keven Last edited by igot2pman; 03-20-2009 at 07:42 PM. |

| Re: How to get texture back to the skin? Decided to show how to apply the dots. If this was a larger image you would do this inside the poor and not just the random plot like i did. Painted the dots with a 75% op, 75% flow on a new blank layer. Set the layer to hard light and reduced opacity till i thought i looked right. Another way to do this is to add noise to the picture but that may not give you the best result. Hope it helps, -Keven Last edited by igot2pman; 03-21-2009 at 09:27 AM. |

| Re: How to get texture back to the skin? why not to use high pass filter on real skin (from the current photo or any other photo) and set it to overlay mode? or I didn't understand the problem enough? |

| Re: How to get texture back to the skin? The question is quite vague, but I believe the point is how to get texture to skin which doesn't have any to begin with. |

It is rare that the skin will have NO detail. Highpass can pick up the smallest details and make them much more visible. |

| Re: How to get texture back to the skin? Nope, that's not the point - you can move texture. All these things work better in 16 bit Last edited by Markzebra; 03-25-2009 at 02:52 PM. |
