| Re: Magic retouching The only one I can see is this one http://www.digart.pl/zoom/1077507/Sen_GWellsa_2.html since the others are +18 and I'm not a member. To start, there is no one way to get the results from the image, nor do I think there is an easy fast way to do the same to a new image. Most of the good retouch takes work and time. You also have to understand how to use different tools in photoshop (or your photo retouch program of choice) together in order to get those kinds of results. Do you know what the basic tools on your program? Secondly you have to start with a photo that's taken with the final image in mind, there is only so much you can do to a photo. It helps your retouch work when the image has the foundations so you can work on and polish to become something good. Now regarding the image I mentioned. what comes to mid at first is that the background tone has been changed, there has been some cold tones added to it while the child is masked away. I'm also seeing something added to the background with a very low opacity at the upper left corner. To mimic the background tone you could try any of the following adjustment layers (in photoshop CS and up) of curves, color balance, selective color, hue/saturation. For the child, the eyes have the same tone as the background as well as a bumped up contrast, I'm also thinking that there is another layer set to soft light (maybe a solid color layer set to black) with a gradient on the mask so the head of the child is lighter than the body. The child's tones have also been cooled down and the reds exaggerated a bit. At the moment that's all that comes to mind |

Perhaps you had better post those photos here – with attribution of course, and not just links, so that we may know what you refer to, RaffDigital. Have fun! |
