how to smooth out hair edges

Hi I am new here and glad to have found this site.Will be posting up some of my work for critiques later....

Anyway as you can see in the attached image, the hair thats close to the edge looks rough and nappy looking lol....so how can I make the edges appear more smooth looking??

I selected some hair on the right side and placed it on a new layer. Flipped that layer horizontally and moved it over the frizzies on the left.

Thanks! thats what I had tried at first but it didn't blend in good...maybe I chose the wrong sample selection from the other side....
I'm going try it again

yours look good

eta: attached another result I came up with...still a little iffy tho

A bit of smudge painting and some light cloning is a good start. It could be as good as you like wth a bit more work.

I borrowed some hair from the other site, then took these steps:
horizontal flip,
warp tool-to match the face edge,
luminosity layer blend with masking (made visible just enough to get rid of the roughness & match the original color),
add some saturation
& high pass for definition
