Palms1 as always u got the effect, amazin how u got it perfectly. Can u tell me,step by step if u have time, what u did.

Thx for your time.
As i said earlier i cheated and used topaz adjust's neutralizer setting ( there is a trial period on this plug in ) and got the result shown below (i tried other ways but they didnt work for me on this image cspringers contrast mask action is usually good or usm/high pass or if you are above ps7 try shadow/ hightlight filter)

I then smudged with a brush set at 20 opacity ( using noise reduction software can reduce the need/amount of smudging needed )

a bit of dodging the highlights then

tweek the colours for taste i warmed the colour up on this one

the main part was cspringers illustration technique and here is a link with a bit more explanation

I must be really bad, cause all i get is like a water painting look with the smudge tool.

Will keep trying.

Re: Miami Kaos effect

Palms1 tried again this morning and this was the result. One of the main problems i see is the smudge on the facial hair, and then some more parts. The original pic is this one:

Re: Miami Kaos effect

Moo you have made a good start keep practicing and reading through the tuts and you will see a great improvement

when i saw your image I did laugh and shake my head, way too much detail there to take this technique ( again you will learn less detail better and easier the work) so I dont know why but gave it a shot (sun must of gone to my head)
sorry if i have messed up any tattoo's and piercing but that happens
oh and you didn't think i would do masking as well did you ?
Also sorry i had to compress this a lot to get it to fit the 100k size limit

Re: Miami Kaos effect

Primarily a healthy dose of Topaz Denoise, then some color adjustments, add some background, sharpen, etc...
