New to the Forum

Hey everyone. I am new to photography, but having alot of fun trying it. I have been trying my hand at editing photos. If anyone is interested, I have posted a photo that I took at a birthday party. I am curious what a picture like this can be made into by someone that knows what they are doing. Here is a link to the picture. Not sure which you would need to edit. Thanks in advance for anyone that is willing to try. http://gmhorse.smugmug.com/photos/44...37UWC-X3-2.jpg

gmhorse, Welcome to RetouchPRO
Good luck and enjoy your time here. Poke around, ask questions, offer help, have fun!

How to attach Files/Images to your Posts or Threads?(Click here)
If you want to post a larger resolution that is over 100K then you can host your image elsewhere and attach a link, (as you did) but also please attach an under 100K version here so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links.

You can post a fairly large pictures which is under 100k using the save for web function in Photoshop as described here:
Size, Quality and/or Format your Attached Images.. (Click here)

Seeing as you posted in the Retouch Forum thats all I did..
there was not much to be done because it was a good picture of a good subject..

cropped, darkened the background, brightened eyes and teeth, some cloning and healing to sort of even the skin tones

Re: New to the Forum

Corrected for the color cast, lightened the facial shadowing a bit, added a bit of skin smoothing, extracted, replaced background and used selective sharpening to highlight the eyes, etc.

Cheers.
