HelloPicadilly,

your image looks great, the lightning has that real surrealistic look, but you sensed something was not quiet right.

If I may say so.. I have some general suggestions for you. There are two points of focus in this composition and a composition comes out stronger if there is only one. I suggest the lady as the focuspoint.

Than I would suggest to create more space around the pink lady, certainly above her head.

Having a real square as canvas can solve a lot of such composition problems, instead of the usual long square.

Hope I was of some use with my suggestions.

Re: Official "The Look" Thread

Hiya guys

I'm new to this forum but I was reading through loads of threads last night including this one, got linked up to several tutorials and thought I would have a go this morning, and I'm really pleased! I'm so glad I found this place, I've always wanted to know how they did this look. Have to say I haven't followed any of the techniques on the thread, just learned the basics and messed around to find my own way.

Could probably go even further with this one but this is it so far. What do you think?

Do u remember what Calvin said about setup for this kind of shot? I supppose he used smtng like ring flash on camera for front light. I don't have this one.
Hi, Calvin doesn´t use a ringflash but often a beautydish with white reflector in front of the subjects. I know this because i´m a member of his forums and 2 Weeks ago i´m where on an Workshop called "Creative Lighting".
