i wanna add some steam for effect to some action shots. any suggestions. tried a few techniques and brushes but it looks more like smoke from a cigarette.
any ideas would be great.
Re: adding steam
Evidently all the different ways to add haze/fog/mist posted in your other thread did not help much
Samples of what you are trying to add steam to would probably help..
I will post this how to post images again for you ..just in case..
If you use Photoshop you can post a fairly large pictures which are under 100k using the save for web function in Photoshop as described here:
Size, Quality and/or Format your Attached Images.. (Click here)
How to attach Files/Images to your Posts or Threads?(Click here)
If you want to post a larger resolution that is over 100K then you can host your image elsewhere and attach a link in the thread, but also please attach an under 100K version (so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links).
Other Hosts if you do not have your own site:
ImageVenue.com (3Meg max, free) pixentral.com (2Meg max, free) photobucket.com (1 Meg max free, 5 Meg PRO) mediafire.com (100 Meg per file, free) post a link in the thread to the site that is hosting the larger image.
Remember to attach an under 100K version in the thread so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links.
You can also use these Free sites: (YouSendIt.com); (Podmailing.com);(Pando.com); (Sendspace.com) to send your original to your own email address, then open that email message, copy the link, and post that link in the thread.
Re: adding steam
you guys are all over it aren't you. it's great.
i didn't come across your ideas the first time but the one with fill and exclusion got me going and i've been using it a bit in varied forms.
i've played with a brush or two and looked at a few online tutorials but i'm struggling to relate steam off a coffee bean to what i'm trying to achieve.
hopefully the pics attached will work this time. it's pretty obvious what from the example to my shot as to how i want it to look.
thanks for the reply.
