Help me with some problem areas.

I recently shot this image of a travel blogger who is about to launch a major press campaign, budget did not allow me to out source the post production, so I took a stab at it myself. I was wondering if you could give it a look over and help me identify any problem areas. I did not want him to look flawless, as he is definitely in the roll of the world weary extreme travel writer, but I did want to clean him up and give him some polish, my major area of concern is his neck and the small folds and rough texture. I keep feeling like I should do something there, but all my efforts leave me unhappy. Or maybe Im over thinking it and should just leave the neck alone. No blurring has been applied to this image. Just adjustments, and dodging and burning (one of my first stabs at it) I am also not sure about the under eyes, I toned them down slightly, but did not want to get rid of them completely, but I worry that I went a little to far regardless. Let me know what you think and what I can improve or pull back.

Thanks for the help!

sadmunky, Welcome to RetouchPRO Hope you enjoy your stay here and make lots of friends. Poke around, ask questions, offer help, have fun!

I just used masked screen and multiply layers to keep the ruggedness of the individual and played with the shadows and highlights .. also sharpened the Irises a bit

Give the first GIF a couple seconds to change and show the difference between the before and after

He looks to "soft" for my taste.

Re: Help me with some problem areas.

He looks pretty good. Just go easy on the softening in the lighting and don't make him too shiny either. The neck isn't something to worry about on a man, it's not bad. I have those lines too and in some pictures i take them out others i don't, but then again i'm a girl. they aren't overpowering in his picture.
