Re: Vampires

I like it. I would add a little red around the eyes personally, but your version works just fine.

Re: Vampires

Wow, I'm really impressed with these.

I love almost everything about the first one: your use of values, the almost unnaturally smooth (adds to the vampire believability) beautiful skin, the saturation of the colors, and the sharpness - all professionally done. I'm ESPECIALLY happy with how you really brought out the depth of the roundness of the eye when you brightened it. It's so commonly overlooked. There only a few things that snagged my eye.

The first is the strange highlight on the tongue, it looks gross.

The second is the sharpness of the hairs falling across the middle of the cheek: it just a little to crisp. I looked at it for a few moments, just because of the contrast, sharpness, and how it's almost a sharp line passing over an incredibly smooth area. I'd tone it down somehow as right now I think it detracts from the beauty of the image.

The third issue I have is with the lighting of the second image. It's so bright and ambient, almost like it's daytime. Perhaps hinting at some kind of directional cone of light from above or darkening the sides of the image or something so it reads more as artificial light. The color is so neutral, I feel like your missing out on some emotional manipulation you could do with color. If it's night time, use more cool highlights and midtones. If you want it to bring out an emotion of terror, make it much darker around the model like she's emerging from darkness with rich, red tones in the shadows. You should either straighten out the image or make the diagonal angle more intentional looking; it just seems overlooked now. If you crop it with the vamp closer to the top of the frame, she'll look higher up and therefore more threatening.

I'm looking forward to the next images you post for critique - they're a lot of fun to look at!

Re: Vampires

Here's how I'd do "fear" colors/light conditions. Sorry I didn't do blue eye-glow, but red just looked much more threatening. Had a little fun with the face too, hope you don't mind. Oh, your linked master-file is still unavailable, so this is painted over your retouch. I don't actually know how the original looked.

I'm all about the mood baby.

Re: Vampires

Very pretty model. Thought you needed to highkey her skin; I added some glow to it as well and also the blood (I need better blood brushes, so apologies for this wacky result; lol).
