How to achieve that effect Hey everybody, i was wondering...how to achieve that smooth and clear summer (i'm not sure if 'summer' is proper word but...when i'm looking on it, i'm thinking about holidays etc http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3419/...705edc6694.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2529/...f7495ab69b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2602/...4e0c9709f0.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2597/...a247a3ce13.jpg I'm attaching sample RAW photo from my camera. I don't know, maybe that look is not caused by photoshop but by a great camera and lens used by his author...just play with my raw, we will see http://www.sendspace.com/file/l58ngk attached photo can be bad for such a retouch - if so, tell me, i'll find another. Or just try to explain how to retouch without making it by yourself take care and thanks!

Re: How to achieve that effect Mostly done in LR. darkened blue luminosity and evened image out. Gave it a vignette, and gave shadows a slight orange hue. In PS, i gave the shadows more yellow with color bal and set blending mode to saturation (60% opacity). Desaturated the whites with vibrence. Then lastly a overall brightness adjustment. Hope it helps, -Keven

Re: How to achieve that effect The images all seem to have a pronounced focal point. My example has no changes made, except adding a focal point.

Re: How to achieve that effect Make a new Vibrence (or hue/sat CS3) layer. Select the mask and go to color range (Select>>>Color Range). Select white and max fuzzinness and range; this will select all your whites. Lastly you desat, I did it all the way but you could do less. I did this because in the EX pictures, the bright whites were very clean as apposed to the yellow-orange shadows. Hope it helps, -Keven
