It looks like it might be a two image pano/stitch? Looks like a merge to the left of the picture down through the chair. Shot from two perspectives.

I think so too Mining Art, for sure.

What do people think on the color correction that is done? Do you think only global curve adjustment layers were created to color correct or was there localized curve adjustment layers created by selection?

When you look at the two images side-by-side it looks like she was just framing the shot when the BTS videographer panned by. For the actual shot she moved to her left to somewhere above the bed and tightened the shot, so the guy with the light was nowhere near the frame.

Are you suggesting that the shot was not composited?

I did a quick two shot of a room from two perspectives and than manually joined them. The same three wall effect resulted with two focal points.

No, actually, all indications are that it is a composite image, just look at the dimensions of the "corner wall", a lot longer than in the video capture. Sorry for not explaining myself.

Annie said herself that most of her pictures are composited.
I mean, shooted with DSLR etc.

and yes, it looks different defo.
maybe they changed the set. maybe compositing. maybe huuuuge CG work.
dunno. but the result is there.

anyway i really love how the tones falls.

The Mad Men pictures has the same light design and post processing as this pictures:

http://www.tmax100.com/fashionimages/105.jpg
http://www.tmax100.com/fashionimages/22.jpg
http://www.tmax100.com/fashionimages/4.jpg

Basic is to work a side with daylight, not against.
Post process is a whole lot of adjsuting and re-painting.
Remember that Annie hires real repro painters for many assignments.

Re: MADMEN Shoot - Annie Leibovitz - Compositing?

It's not some crazy compositing scheme. Unless you've got a trained eye to tell, the error in perspective that you may acknowledge is probably due the fact that the film still is probably shot with a wider lens (24-35mm) where as the actual shot may actually be (70-140mm). The longer the lens the more narrow perspective becomes, thus probably excluding the modifier from the photo.

Not saying this is right, but is a great possibility.

And wherever AL is standing in the film still is most likely not where the final shot came from.
