Smile Maya Guez Effect!!!

I am a huge fan of Maya Guez a photographer located out in NYC, and she shoots alot of celebrities and models. I enjoy looking at and studying her work, however I cannot seem to pinpoint her retouching skills I was wondering if my family from Retouchpro would be able to lend a helping hand. I am sure we are all learning on the same pace here trying our best to discover great ways to retouch but this woman is outstanding. I have provided a free file of mines to work on if you can pull off this retouch stratagy could possibly use it for your book, I just need help and tips, maybe hidden plugins I don't know about to imitate this look. Thanks friends.

you can check out her skills at her website. Just click on one of the red roses.

Practice Photo is found:

PW: Retouch

Just enter the PW above and you can click on the download file in the uper right corner to download, thanks guys.

Re: Maya Guez Effect!!!

I've seen the shot of the guy with the tacks talked about in model mayhem a long time ago. It turned out that the first was the use of oil (don't remember the application procedure) then it was a combination of Dodge & Burn for the details, and then via Dodge & Burn exaggerating the highlights and shadows.
Of course this also means that the casting and lighting is done exactly to help for the look.

Check out the D&B tutorial

Re: Maya Guez Effect!!!

I think the lighting in the test image was too soft to achieve the dramatic lighting effect that Maya Guez does. I played with it and I think I got a much softer version of what you were looking for. Let me know what you think.
