George

Hiya guys,
Considering having a print of George here on a 600mm x 500mm canvas, I've been playing with it trying to get it to "pop" but I just can't seem to get it to do what I want. Does anyone have any ideas?

John

Re: George

I just wanted to play with George! How Cute!

Maybe it will give you some ideas.. Mostly I did some selective sharpening (tongue, nose, eyes with USM) and darkening the top of his head slightly then darkened the background.... also cropped to size then a Softlight, High Pass layer to sharpen overall..

Re: George

Thanks 0lBaldy
I wouldn't say he's cute mind you!
He is what you might call stubborn tho' he'll only do what he wants to and knowbody can make him do otherwise

Think I'll just drop him on a curves layer to add some contrast and sharpen him up some, and I like that darkening on top of his head.

Re: George

Sorry but he is cute
picked this tip up a few weeks ago

dup layer >desaturate>invert>put blend mode to overlay >add gaussian blur at about 10

you will probably need to adjust saturation/colour ) i used curves and levels (still needs some tweeking though)

oh and the second one is for fun !

Re: George

Thanks all,
Cupcake, I love the frame
Palms, I think your desat layer ect works really well on this, so I've gone with a mixture of all ideas, what do you think?

Looks good to me and of course the desat layer thing could be made into a action for ease and speed
