How do you get this sorta skin technique?

Thanks for the help guys....this site is always so helpful

I am trying to nail this sorta smoothing technique i am interested in how that shiny look is achieved ,,,,, any one know how its done....

I am not so much fussed about the smoothing its just that silky shiny look specially on the face that i am interested in?

I think part of the look may come from a ring flash mounted on the camera

It looks like straight flash. I don't know if there is some D&B, but it's quite clear the flash light was too much because how looks the skin tone. The arm in the bottom looks airbrushed so seems some D&B was used because the light looks the same than in the other arm. However, it doesn't look very well applyed in my personal opinion.

A model with good clean skin and you lighting the scene properly will get you very far. As for the MUA, I can't agree more. He or she is a valuable asset on every shoot you do.

Regarding the retouch part, your example image looks a little overprocessed to me. Looks like a small amount of D&B and a quite heavy filter on top. Adding some noise or turning down the opacity of filter-layer would properly do the trick.

Possibly added a little bit of 'diffused glow'...
I sometimes use it myself... and gives a little shine to the skin.
