| Specifically need help creating hair - Pageant Now on to someone who might help. I just need to know how to make hair or ringlets; like in these: http://mud-bug.com/wp-content/upload.../04/glitz1.jpg |

| Re: Specifically need help creating hair - Pageant There's nothing wrong with pageant retouching. There's everything wrong with pageants! And by improving their retouches you only, irresponsibly, promote the 'phenomenon'. |

Annoying to see the SAME rants over and over and over and over and over again, huh? R.I.P. Originality |

| Re: Specifically need help creating hair - Pageant That response was kind of rude bgvotaw. I do not think that was a rant, just simply stating an opinion. Although to W.Smith I would say that you're response is wasted here. bgvotaw is obviously not interested in what anyone else thinks about this. |

I found the easy way is to just buy a $10.00 wig that has the curl style you want and take photos then superimpose in the the picture. Thats the way i do it the most. You could draw the strands by using the Photoshop brush, then use the burn tool and highlight tool to add the small shines and shadows. Also you could look at stock art, and purchase a photo that has the same hair style and photoshop that in. Hope this helps get ya started. |

| Re: Specifically need help creating hair - Pageant With the original picture even...if you used a layer mask on that layer...you can usually "Extract" the little ringlets and the sprays and whisps by painting black and white on the mask. The mask helps you isolate out individual hair elements so now you can take that cutout curl...and bring it over to another photo and blend it in seamlessly over there. You would need to google, or photo library search, or scan some hi res images of hair styles you want to use elements from...the bigger the resolution, the better the quality match. The bigger the pixel count 1000 pixels, 3000 pixels the better the quality (web sized 400 pixel images are only good for web size retouches) and the bigger the dots per inch the better the quality and detail of the hair (72dpi is screen resolution which may be a bit blurry to use...180, 240 or 300 dpi are print quality resolutions). If you are a photographer or know one...shooting a human hair wig... or your own hair... or a friends new specially made pageant hair up do... shot real up close and big... could also give you some good source material to pull from. When you get several good curls extracted...save them into a library for future use again. Last edited by ray12; 10-27-2009 at 10:33 AM. |
