I am considering using an Oval + Gaussian Blur for this image. Would appreciate tips for best technique.

Something like this? Maybe crop a little more of the tummy off.

Portrait - Dealing with background

Over lay a background and then add a frame.

Background idea:
I like a warmer background for a beautiful baby.
Changed color, added more noise to it then blurred it.

I can't decide if some of these are fun or downright cheesy.

Re: Portrait - Dealing with background

I thought the cute baby needed a bit more color around it.

First I masked the baby and then filled the background with a gradient color at 88% opacity.

Re: Portrait - Dealing with background

You could always remove it.

You can take potty training to excess as well.
Sorry couldn't help myself

Peter S, if it was my baby,
your art renderings would be framed and on my wall really fast.

Nice job!

Many thanks to you all for these. Some nice ideas.
