Re: How change out one blue colour whit another..?

I didn't get the actual question but I'll try to answer.
I believe you are asking how to change hair color. Current hair color is a blue and which you want to change it to different shade of blue, right?

Many different ways..
One is to create a new layer. Set the blending mode to color and then start painting on the new layer with the new blue color on the hair.
Second method could be a new hue saturation layer and narrow down the selection to the hair color and then change you color.

P.S. I'm not an expert in PS so if others reply to this thread, please try their method first as they may be better and easier.

CMI, the link is to a gallery of pictures. Which one are you referring to? Is it is the blue tinted danelion flower? If yes, are you trying to change the background color or the flower?

Have you already tried the Hue/Saturation command or the Selective Color?
If both don't work you just have to mask the hair and get just the background white, the hair (and everything else) black.

Add a new layer over the top and create a small rectangle swatch of your new blue color over the background area. Then put a hue and saturation adjustment layer over your image and move the hue/saturation/darkness of the blue and/or cyan to match the new blue swatch. Check to make sure that the adjustment hasn't affected other parts of the image (mask as necessary to protect them). Delete the layer with the swatch of the new blue.

Re: How change out one blue colour whit another..?

1) Over your image, add a new Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. You will use this to move the Blue and/or Cyan to match your new blue.
2) Over everything, add a new layer and create a small square of your new blue.
3) In the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer move the Hue, Saturation, and Lightness of the Blue and/or Cyan (you will find Blue and Cyan in the pull down under Master in the adjustment layer's dialog box) to match the new blue square above.
4) Mask out (painting with black on the adjustment layer's layer mask) any areas that were affected by the Hue/Saturation change that shouldn't have been changed (things that are blue but are not the background).
5) Delete the layer with the square of the new blue.

Hope this is more clear.

Re: How change out one blue colour whit another..?

You might be better off using the Calculations Command to create a high contrast mask. I used the Red and Blue channels in the screenshot. You can then use the Dodge tool to dodge the midtones to turn the background white. I started the edge in the 2nd attachment. The image you attached is very low quality and heavily pixelated there were no fine hairs for me to paint on but you should be able to do well with this technique on a higher res image.

Masking hair is not an easy job. You just need a little patience. Sneak up on the mask a little at a time - not in terms of area but in terms of effect. If you use Murray's technique set your dodge and burn tools to very low strength, like 10%, with a soft brush. Burn just outside the hair a bit, the dodge just inside the hair a bit. Go back and forth, keeping an eye on the detail. If you just scrub along the hair edge with either brush you're likely to lose detail.

Re: How change out one blue colour whit another..?

On this one I'd first create a new layer, select the color of the sky around her hair and paint above everything from the old background. Next double-click on this layer to get into the blending options, choose the luminance blending (Red: 0, 90/145; Blue: 60/100, 0) and apply. After that create a layer mask and paint with a middle gray above the hair you want to protect more.

Definitively not the best method, but one of the shortest.
