Re: Need your opinion about my latest retouch

Being a complete ignorant of beauty retoching, the one thing I notice is that the retouched face appears to be much rounder (fuller) than the original. I would prefer to have that corrected.

Part of the effect seems to stem from the reduced outer hairline, otherwise lighting?

Quantum did you use that high pass thing? I notice it works well sometimes and other times not.

I like the background change and color a lot.

The skin looks way too blurred and like the texture was added back in, looks really fake in my opinion... I'd suggest that the skin needs to be redone with a completely different approach... also, the original looks a bit hard to deal with at the start, do you have the RAW file? I'd maybe tone that down a bit first and then work on the file and add contrast at the end.... The original also looks like it has a little motion blur on it too.... do you have a sharper image that you could start with?

Re: Need your opinion about my latest retouch

Skin looks completely wrong on the face. You need to keep in mind that on different body parts there are different types of skin and a variety of textures. Eg skin on the cheek will be smoother than skin just under the eyes. Skin on the forehead and nose will generally be very smooth. At the moment it looks like she was dipped in a deep fryer as far as the skin texture is concerned.

Re: Need your opinion about my latest retouch

Hi Quantum !

The work between the original and the retouched is awesome.
However, but it is a personal point of view, I find the texture of the skin too articial and linear, what is supposing a filter or something not natural.
One other thing I noticed on the top lips is that there is a kind of translucid, very light bar, or a light color issue I don't know.
On the noise, I would have personaly reduced the white reflection, which I find unesthetical. Except theses details, the rest is good for me !

Cheers

Re: Need your opinion about my latest retouch

Waaay too much blur on the low frequency/non-high pass layer. The original separation's radius was also too low.

Too much sharpening on the high frequency/high pass layer, especially on the lips.
